SENIOR CLASS HISTORY l-las anyone forgotten that memorable day rn the Fall of 39 when we the class of 43 regrstered as Freshmen? We felt we were rnrstreated for about two weeks bu after we were no longer afrald of those d1gn1f1ed yet fnghtenlng upper-classmen we elected our class offrcers Pres1dent Glenn Ellmgson V1cePres1dent Don Severtson Secretary Treasurer Beverly Krrkpatnck and Class Reporter Iames Emnck wrth Mr Cornn our class advlser Of course no one has forgotten that two of those green ktds rece1ved sllver footballs that same year They were Ralph Hales and Ross Sutherland l guess the class of 43 proved that they could hold thezr own The Fall of 40 we were no longer klds we were SOPHOMORESl We consrdered ourselves upper classmen although the rumors and semors d1d not We now felt r1ght at home among the long halls and numbered rooms After all prelrrmnartes were over we had class electton The OIflC9fS were l1mmy Emrrck Prestdent Shelton lones V1cePres1dent Ruth Whttney Secre tary Treasurer and Glenn Ellrngson Class Reporter We gave a good share of the partles that year and even managed qulte a successful Masquerade Ball whlch was glven Halloween N1ght But now agmg fast 1n the Fall of 4l we were really upper classmen Thls was a try1ng year for us Our funds were a l1ttle low and we had to put on a prom that would at least equal the one grven by the class of 42 lt turned out much better but we were really rn a drlernrna The class offlcers elected to carry most of the load were Prestdent Don Severtson V1cePres1dent Shelton lones Secretary Edythe Moore and Treasurer Patr1c1a I-lays The whole class Worked hard and put forth 1ts best efforts on the prom and even though we were st1ll decoratlng the nrght before and the next aft ernoon 1t turned out very successful The scene was a South Arnerlcan fresta Not only d1d we glve a rnagnlflcent prom but 1n b1dd1ng our sen1or class But now the year we were look1ng for f1nally came We were SSHIOIS Reallzlng that we had much buslness to accompllsh the ftrst th1ng we d1d was elect class offtcers Those elected were Patncla Hays Pres1dent llmrny Ernrlck VICG Presldent Betty Iune Koo1stra Secretary Treasurer Beverly Krrkpatnck Class Reporter Gettmg r1ght down to work we started on our Sen1or Play The play selected was Plane Crazy wrth Mlss Iames and MISS Iones as the dtrectors lt was presented to the publlc on December 4 1942 and we really made a success of tt Even though there were only a few gettrng class rrngs and announcements th1s year because of the war 1t was fun and excrtrng gettlng thern The annual took a lot of hard work and our valuable t1me too but 1t was pure pleasure rssutng thrs autob1ography of the struggles of us the Sen1ors The Junlors gave a super duper prom and banquet 1n b1dd1ng us ad1eu We can hope that next year they ll have as good a class as ours Commencement the day we had looked forward to came at last We had all donned the regalza of caps and gowns and stood wartrng eagerly to recelve that prectous llttle document that told us we were now takrng a responslble place 1n the world wrth our elders Now four memorable and happy years wrth Mr Cornn as our advrser are over for all of us We say so long to all of you the Iunrors you Sophomores and you swell ltttle Freshmen Then too we mustn t forget our faculty We had practrcally a new faculty thrs year and we thrnk they ve been perfect to us 1n every way And so good bye to good old C l'l S the swellest school rn the lot TO FRANKIE IN MEMORIAM Not quite a year ago we lost a swell fellow from our class Frank Suart the lud wrth the bright eyes and the ever smllxng mouth We have mused hum sincerely and can only say that we have not forgotten I 6 I Q I ' 4 l I .
