Under the leadershlp of Mr Malerus the F F A chapter thrs year was very actrve The othcers for the year were prestdent Vernon R Larson v1ce presrdent Don Koenrg secretary Robert Dellnes reporter B111 Roblnson sentrnel Elmer Aakre rovrng ottrcer Harry Petersen treasurer Ohver Aaberge At the dlS1T1Cl meet held at Farrheld last year the Conrad chapter took many prtzes ln the poultry d1v1s1on the Conrad team composed of Vernon Freebury and Ralph Loefller took th1rd place Don Koentg and Ralph Sluys on the gram team took hrst The lrvestock team was composed of Vernon R Larson and Bob Hostetter Clarence Aakre was shop delegate As our delegate for the Pubhc Speakrng dtvrsron Iames Tetrault placed second A team made up of Clarence Aakre and Art Vandepas placed second rn horseshoe The same boys went to Bozeman tor the state convenhon Ralph Sluys took second place rn the Agnculture scholarsh1p contest Clarence Aakre took The most outstanarng actrvrty ot the year was helpmg to get the F F A members started on therr prorects The two hogs grven to Robert Sluys and Art Vandepas comprrsed the rnatn prorect The chapter sent many entrres to the North Montana State Falr About tttty dollars was made rn prrzes The F F A made a weeks trlp through Yellowstone Park durlng the summer ot 1941 The boys remember the bears more than anythlng else The annual Parent Son banquet was held Nox ernber 15 The dlnner was served by the Home Economlcs grrls On February 13 the 17 F A chapter sponsored a radro broadcast over KFBB They were accompanted by the Home Economrcs Club who also took part 1n the program The basketball team thrs year rncluded Harry Petersen Art Vandepas Ted Stokes lunror Robrnson Brlly Robrnson Walter Vandepas lack Kellogg and Henry Holstern Th Conraa chapter beat Vaher 1214 rn an overtrme pertod Choteau was vtctorrous over Conrad F F A both games thrs year wrnntng by a score of 13 8 and 1310 I F. JUNIGR PRCDM The annual lunr r Prom given on April 25 1941 rn ho or of the class of 41 was cur most elaborate achievement as Iunrors Lengthy deloates and heated discussions finally resulted in usrng the Deep Sea theme rn our setting After selection of the very efficient Prom Committees work progressed rapidly With the use of imagination a bathsphere at the entrance lowered the promenaders into an enchanting underwater world Gaily colored fish were s en gliarng gracefully along a full length mural to the sweet strains of under sea m oleys swung lcy V rn Paulson and his Rhythm Benders Along the north wall ther were sea caverns which provided refuge for foot weary de p sea divers Mermaids reclining in sunken ships refreshed the dancers Nrth cool delightful salt water punch On the transformed stage Neptune king of the sea reigned supreme in hrs castle of coral reefs gaudy fish and rrpplrng rhythm Streamers hung rn profuston resembled the foaming churn dur ed a most spectacular scene At nine oclock Grace Yeager and Don Dolhver led the grand march to the swing version of Onward Conrad This was the largest grand march in the history of Conrad High School Programs in the form of fish with fish rrsprred names announced fourteen dances with four extras 'They were given out by two smiling little gentlemen Gary Kellogg and Billy Simon dressed rs sailors Thanks to Mr Breedens careful supervrston and helpful advice our Prom was a huge success' Due credit goes to the entire class for the willrng assistance and srncere cooperation displayed by all We are grateful to those outside of the class to our ranrtor pal Tom O Brien to those friends who lent furniture and settings and to the mothers and fathers who acted as Patrons and Patronesses Mr and Mrs H H Dolliver Mr and Mrs C W Strrcklm Mr and Mrs C 1 Pings Mr and Mrs Ed Breeden and Superintendent H P Lewis I I .
