Summer Involvement INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CORPS Seoul , Korea On August 11, a group of enthusiastic young people gathered at Los Angeles International Airport to board a flight to Seoul, Korea. Among them were five CBC students: Carmen Kelley, Gaylene Novak, Mike Tuttle, Brenda Burgus and Suson Fennell. Their ad- venture, consisting of two weeks of personal evangelism, a prayer re- treat, and street work, brought them in direct contact with Korea ' s souls. Before returning home, the IYC team and the young people of the Korean Pentecostal Church had passed ' out over 200,000 tracts in Seoul. MISSIONARY HELPER Phil ippines During his 1974 summer stay near Manila, Tom Bracken was privileged to work for two experienced mission- aries: Field Supervisor Carl Adams and Gordon Mallory. Tom ' s first ex- posure to the Philippines was in the Navy. Two years after his discharge, he came to Bible college where a de- sire grew within him to return. After the Foreign Missions Division ap- proved his application for missionary helper, he made the personal sacri- fices to finance his own trip. Mis- sionary life became a reality to him as he preached, taught a youth class, ran errands, and even baby-sat.

Street Meetings Excitement gripped us as we stood on the streets of Port- land to sing, pray, worship and testify about our Lord. We saw, felt, and responded to the cry of Portland ' s lost souls. Those prospects who seemed so hardened and defiant were often the ones who broke down in tears of repentance. We found them sitting on park benches, standing on street corners, and even lying on lawns. They came from all walks of life; and we mingled among them with tracts and a personal witness of the truth! And the same time there arose no small stir about that way (Acts 19:23). i I ;: Biinii in iff

Foreign Missions Con ven tion Ninety-four percent of what Jesus died for is outside the United States. Having presented that fact, Brother Don Fisher of the Overseas Ministries Department proceeded to tell us about the qual- ifications and procedures for mis- sionary appointment. With him were European field Superinten- dent Hulon Myre, and Wynn Drost, outgoing missionary to El Salva- dor. Their first-hand accounts challenged us to prepare ourselves NOW for the tasks that surely must lie ahead.
