Street service at The Fountain ' ' The Outreach Ministries program was designed to involve all students in evangelism for these end times. On Saturday morning students scattered through Portland ' s Lloyd Cen- ter to communicate the message of Salvation to the shoppers through the spoken word and silent tract. As the Saturday night life of downtown Portland ex- ploded with lights and laughter, students preached God ' s WORD to the congre- gated hippies near The Fountain, while others walked the streets of skidrow inviting souls to The Fountain of Life Mission where fellow students preached Bible Truth. On Sunday afternoon students ministered to the elderly at Harvest Homes. These and evangelism assignments in UPC churches throughout the Northwest made up the mainstream of outreach Mission service Rev. Jerry Dillon, director OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Even the cafeteria is a place of learning. The after chapel snack break gives occasion for stimu- lating Bible discussions. Mealtimes likewise are frequent scenes of constructive sharing of thoughts. Neither is the dorm just a resting place. Ideas are shared about spiritual matters; answers are sought from God ' s Word. Many valuable hours of study and quiet meditation are evidenced around the convenient study centers in each room. So from place to place on the campus of CBC an atmosphere for learning can be found. Yet the life of CBC does not consist wholly of reading textbooks and doing assignments. Many times, day and night, victories in Jesus or prayers of intercession can be heard echoing from the chapel as students learn to wait in prayer.

HOME MISSIONS The Youth Corps program of the United Pentecostal Church Home Missions Department sponsors Bible college students to labor in home missions churches during the summer months. Mike Meadows and Dan Satterwhite were chosen for the 1970 summer program. For ten weeks they spent from four to six hours a day going from house to house telling of the wonderful experience of the Holy Ghost and inviting people to the house of the Lord. These students often spent the evening hours in service preaching the Word. Other evenings were spent in prayer and study and in infor- mative discussions with the pastors of the ten churches they visited. These experiences were invaluable training for the future ministries of these young men. â– CiKm Mike Meadows Dan Satterwhite DEPUTATION Steve Yadon Joan Lee Miles, miles, thousands of miles ... practice and more practice. These fact- ors combined with the spiritual highlights, Christian fellowship, and youth contacts were all part of deputation travel. The group ' s itinerary took them through the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. Youth camps, camp meetings, church services, banquets, and visitation activities brought them in contact with many young people to whom they endeav- ored to show the benefits of specialized training in Bible college.
