STAFF: As Dean of Women and Mathematics In- structor, I pay tribute to all students who are sincerely making an effort to accomplish something important to their pre sent and fu- ture welfare, but as Sponsor of The Con- Rah! I want to especially point out what my staff has done, and commend them. Each year, early in the first semester, I invite any student who is interested in year- book Work to become a member of the staff of The Con-Rah! The members of the staff are volunteers who give their time and talent to do any part of the work asked of them ..... without reward, except for the pride of having done something for the stu- dent body that is worthwhile. I have had a wonderful staff this year. They have worked hard and willingly. . .sell- ing advertising, gathering together pictures of student life for the snap-shot pages, sell- ing subscriptions to the yearbook, and doing the biggest job of all, helping to plan and assemble the materials for the printer. Per- haps Sissie and Mary Sue need an especial pat-on-back for their pasting job, and Treva and Wanda for their typing jobs. For lack of time and space, I do not enu- merate each and his particular contribution, but, as the picture below indicates, no one has been idle. In this picture, and on pages three and thirty-two are the staff members as they worked together. If it seems that there has been an emphasis on picturing the staff, it is my way of honoring them for a job well done. Miss CLAIRE A. HARRISON, Dean of Women, Sincerely' Mathematics Instructor, and Sponsor of The Con-Rah! P A R T O F T Claire A. Harrison, Sponsor. 'pub y..

THE PRESlDENT'S MESSAGE Congratulations to the Con Rah staff for giving us this years history of our ac- tivities. We are indebted to the members of the staff for much hard work, and we offer you our thanks. It has been good to have on the campus the young men and women who have made up this years student body. The faculty and the administration deem it a privilege to have served you as you have persued goals you have set for your personal im- provement. This has been a busy year and We think a good year for the growth of your college. Your co-operation has been an important part of it all. We are living in a time when new and exciting events, social, political, and tech- nological, are affecting our lives and the way we live. These are not times for school as usual, but times that call for no less than the best in each of us. If we are to compete as individuals and as a nation, we must de- velop our potential to the fullest. As you review this years activity, we hope you are able to do so with satisfaction, satisfaction in strengthening your good con- victions and in the enlargement of your hori- zon for the future. We congratulate the graduating sopho- mores and wish you success. We invite the freshmen to return to the campus to work with us again next year. Miss Bessie Huff Dean, Muskogee Branch Miss Huff reminisces: Through the halls of Muskogee junior College, through the churches and busi- nesses, and in the homes of Muskogee as well as out in the world echo the voices of the students who have worked, laughed, and prayed their way through Muskogee junior College. . Somehow no matter how obscure the spot was where the school might be put, regardless of how uncomfortable the indi- viduals were personally, each new loca- tion echoed with pleasure and co-operation. In the frame houses, the fires and water had to be turned off each night in winter. Each morning there was a general rustle of activity as water and heat were re- stored. Gloves and overcoats were Worn in the early classes. People were crowd- ed as they passed up and down stairs. Their tramp, tramp mingled with laughter echoed through the years. Muskogee junior College has never been an institution in the sense that there were buildings and a campus. Books were al- ways everywhere and the library was like the living room of a home . The great num- bers who have gone on to senior college to complete higher degrees testify to what the young people took from their earnest, kind, helpful, and excellent instructors. Each former student was like a small pebble dropped into a pool, The eddy of each joined that of another until those pebbles be- came the great stepping stones that have brought about the change to a new, bigger, and better school for Muskogee. Muskogee Junior College has been made up of happy people, both faculty and stu- dents, from every race, creed or color who will always love it.
