The group, sponsored by Mr. Dan DeLoache and Miss Lura Rimmer, met daily in the Auditorium. Meetings of Wesley were open to students of all faiths. The devo tionals were led by members of the student body, the faculty, or by guest speakers. Officers of the group were: Walther Barnett, President, Pat Haggard, Vice-President, Ann Childress, Secretary, john Farmer, Student Senate Representative, Charles Griffey, Song Leader, and ,Ieannene Cardinal, Pianist. Other members pictured: Phyllis Woodward, Norma Dean Skinner, Billye Cantwell, Barbara Williams, Carolyn Liles, Gwendolyn Knight, Gary Roberts, Helen Turner, Sandra Mansker, Saundra Seabolt,Margaret Dean Kenedy, and Karen johnson. For its contribution to the social life on the campus, Wesley Foundation sponsored an all-school Christmas Dance. In , . -... - , I . ' . Activities during the year were a week-end retreat at the Kiamichi Baptist Camp at Talihina, a hayride in November, and the annual Sweetheart Banquet in February. The Baptist Student Union's goal is to have a closer Christ-Student Relationship. Officers this year were: Sandy Pack, president, Donald Adams, vice-president, Earl Roberts, program chairman , Kaye Chrisenberry, student senate representative, Charles Griffy, song leader, and janet Baxter, pianist. Sponsors were Everett Byrd, and Jimmie Rogers, Pictures show some of these activities of BSU. Sweetheart Banquet pictures are of: Phyllis Woodward, George Christy, Emi Lea Crittenden, Robert Burns, Sandy Pack, janet Baxter, Marjorie Tarkington, jeannene Cardinal, Clifford Bacon, Pat Haggard, Earl Roberts, Sandra Mansker, and Don Woods. .Aff lelddftlnenf The Art Department of Connors College is composed of students enrolled in the different art courses offered by the school. Mrs. Ruth White is the instructor and sponsor of the Art Club. The art classes unite to fomi the club for the purpose of understanding art and how it works to better our lives and the area in which we live. I The Art Club sponsored the Valentine Dance at which Tom 'Erick and Marvelene Goines were chosen King and Queen of Hearts. Officers of the club: Earl Strebeck, President , Roger Sweeney, Vice-President, Marvelene Goines, Secretary , Terri Campbell, Reporter. The Art Department exhibits each month paintings by various artists. Exhibits this year included Collection of Indian Art, Indian Women by Mrs. White, Christmas Designs from the American Crayon Co., N.Y. ,paintings by Maurine Pearson, and Connors students of the first semester, paintings by Lee Tsatoke, and the Muskogee Students of Mrs. White, paintings by Sayde Wolf Le Vine, and Ann Farrill, paintings by Tom Root , and paintings by second semester art students. I The art students made trips to Philbrook and to Gilcrease Art Centers in Tulsa. They painted back-drops for the stage, murals for the Christmas, 1 Lyceum, Mother's Day, and Easter programs. This year the students also painted a mural for the new YWCA-YMCA building in Muskogee. Mrs. White had a twenty-two picture One-Man-Show in New York, March 7-275 a student exhibit was shown in the Broken Arrow High School, February and March, and-two students showed fifteen Indian Object Pictures in the Southern Plains Museum in Anaclarko, Oklahoma.
