Its purpose is to teach better understanding of the Catholic Church and its beliefs. The purpose ofthe Senate is to co-ordinate all student activities and to bring about closer relationships between the college administration, faculty, and student body. Senate-sponsored activities were the Homecoming Dance and the Spring Formal. The President of Student Senate presided at all assemblies. Executive Committee of the Senate is: Melvin Powell, President, L. D. Melton, Vice-President, Bill Thornhill, Parliamentarian, Anne Childress, Sec- retary-Treasurer, Dean A. B. Childress and Miss Lura Rimmer, Sponsors. Other members are: Carl Parks, Tommy Combs, jim Dilley, Sandra Mansker, Margie Stormes, Barbara E. Williams, Kaye Chrisenberry, june Wilson, Norma Skinner, janet Baxter, Mary Dixon, Karen johnson, Roger Van Dyke, Bobby Robertson, Gerald Younger, johnny Shawn. and john Farmer. we gonnom' Cofkgian In 1931 the Connors' Collegian began its monthly publication under the direction of Mr. C. E. Montgomery. Since then the staff has reported on school news events, feature articles, and chatter-box items. First Semester Staff Members were Sandy Pack and Kaye Chrisenberry, Editors, Sandra Mansker, Make-up Editor, john Elsner and Sue Brown, Assistant Make-up Editors, Robert Christy, Sports Editor, Terri Campbell, Society Editor, Carole Goines and Thomas Mitchell, Feature Editors, Bill McDaniel, Business Manager, and Reporters, janet Baxter, Lois Perrymore, Edna Mitchell, Charles Bunnell, Sam McNeeley, Bennie Osborn, Gloyd Miller, Billie jean Pratt, and Marty Mahurin. Second Semester Staff Members included: john Elsner, Editor, Sandy Pack, Mack-up Editor, Edna Mitchell, Feature Editor, Charles Bunnell, Sports Editor, Mr. jim Rogers, Photographer, and Reporters, Billye Cantwell, Barbara Williams, George Christy, Ronald Colburn, Marvelene Goines, Cleo Guthrie, Leo Guthrie, Colleen jackson, Ellis Moren, Mary Needham, Betty Rhodes, Lucille Sargent, Dennis Tarkington, and Phyllis Woodward. Activities during the year were a week-end retreat at the Kiamichi Baptist Camp at Talihina, a hayride in November, and the annual Sweetheart Banquet in February. The Baptist Student Union's goal is to have a closer Christ-Student Relationship. Officers this year were: Sandy Pack, president, Donald Adams, vice-president, Earl Roberts, program chairman , Kaye Chrisenberry, student senate representative, Charles Griffy, song leader, and janet Baxter, pianist. Sponsors were Everett Byrd, and Jimmie Rogers, Pictures show some of these activities of BSU. Sweetheart Banquet pictures are of: Phyllis Woodward, George Christy, Emi Lea Crittenden, Robert Burns, Sandy Pack, janet Baxter, Marjorie Tarkington, jeannene Cardinal, Clifford Bacon, Pat Haggard, Earl Roberts, Sandra Mansker, and Don Woods.
