The purpose ofthe Senate is to co-ordinate all student activities and to bring about closer relationships between the college administration, faculty, and student body. Senate-sponsored activities were the Homecoming Dance and the Spring Formal. The President of Student Senate presided at all assemblies. Executive Committee of the Senate is: Melvin Powell, President, L. D. Melton, Vice-President, Bill Thornhill, Parliamentarian, Anne Childress, Sec- retary-Treasurer, Dean A. B. E. Montgomery. Since then the staff has reported on school news events, feature articles, and chatter-box items.
