THE TRI PSI CLUB for Sophomore women chose for the 1952-1953 year, sponsor Mrs. Ruth White, Art Instructor, and elected the following officers: President, Jean Collings, Vice-Pres1- dent, Shirley Harkeyg Secretary, Pearl Rector Coldirong Treasurer, Mae Carrg Reporter, Vir- . . ginia Scribag Student Senate Representative, Coleta West. ' .7ju Activities of the club included Freshman week which ended with an all-school mncer super- vised by the Student Senate, and the Valentine Dance which was a semi-formal affair. For the dance, Mrs. White presented each member of the club with a red-and-white Carnation corsage. In return the members gave Mrs. White a corsage of red roses to symbolize their affection for her. In.Septernber, 1952, Russell Belles re-organized and elected the following officers: Presi- dent, Reba Turner, Vice-President, Jeannie Sharnbling Secretary, Florence Greenwoodg Re- porter, Charlene Edwardsg Student Senate Representative, Wanda Gentry, and Sponsor Libby Marshall. The outstanding activity of the club was sponsoring Sadie Hawkins Week, climaxed with the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance. Sue Nell Fisher and Bill Bunch received prizes for the BE tk I best costumed Little Abner and Daisy Mae. Zio Officers installed were: Bennie Barton, President, Betty Williams, Vice-President: Doris Jean Archer, Secretary-Treasurer: Dorothy Cornelius, Student Senate Repre- sentativeg Doris Fine and Nan Kennedy, Historians: Jeannie Shamblin, Song Lead- er, and Bonnie Ledford, Reporter. Mrs. Ruth G. Spencer is the Club sponsor. Table etiquette is being practiced by Wesley Jarman and Bob Criner as they seat Coleta West and Doris Archer at the luncheon table. Bill Honeycutt, Jeannie Shamblin, Bennie Barton, and Don Garvin chat over their afternoon refreshers. The Homemakers learn about furniture styles, how to select furniture, and how to care for furniture. Bonnie Ledford, Nan Kennedy, and Georgia Spradley are in- specting a chair which belongs to the de- partment. Busy at the machine is Reba Turner and at the press board is Mary Lou Gosnell. Home Nursing students, Dorothy Cornelius and Nan Kennedy, are preparing to minister to the sick or scrub up after- wards, while Joyce Sanders shows the technique of cooling the patient's feverf, The patient is Patsy Goodner.
