Going inro over- rime, Conner was upser by o score of 13- 6. The Cougars rebounded on rhe nexr gome shutting our Bellevue 27-0. Unfor- tunately rhe Cougars bsr rheir nexr game ro sub-disrricr rival Covingron Carholic 0-24. The Cougars came back, striking down Newport Carholic 27-8, and hand- ed sub-district foe Simon Kenron o loss by bearing them 29-7. The preceding gome was special ro Coach Lewis and his ream. Ir was parr II of rhe Big Barrie of Boone, bur ir was also a chance for Coach Lewis ro have his 250rh career vicrory. The Cougars want- ed ro win for rheir Coach and avenge rheir previous loss. The Cougars were fired up and shur-our rhe rebels 19-0. Afterwards rhey celebrated Coach Lewis’s 250rh career victory. The Cougars finished up rhe season with an overtime loss ro Uoyd losing 13- 15. They had convincing wins over Scon- bearing them 56-20 ond Dixie Heights whipping them 35-8. Tony was one of rhe Top 22 in Norrhern Ky. He wos named ro rhe 2nd ream oil disrricr and All-Region. He was also rhe Cougars mosr voluoble offensive bock. The 1982 Cougar Foorball Team hod q rremendous season. They succeeded in doing whor no orher Cougar ream had done. They ended rhe school's twelve year jinx of never winning an opening gome when rhe Cougars defeared a ralenred Campbell Counry ream by a score of 12-6. The nexr week rhe Cougars rraveled ro Fr.
