Cheerful lookin' bunch. 36 When sectional time rolls around the Tri-I-li-Y annually presents a program for the whole student body in honor of the basketball team. This year various senior girls represented different members of the Spartan squad at a mock funeral. All of the losing sectional teams were mourned for at the funeral, as the triumphant Spartans march on to the regional. 37 E ICR PL Y OUR HEARTS WERE YOUNG AND GAY The senior play this year was the bright comedy, Our Hearts Were Young And Gay. It was written by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough. It is the story of their escapades in France and on board boat in 1923. The Big Red accomplished this year what no other Spartan team had done in 20 years by bringing home the regional crown. They downed their old toe Milan to advance to the semi-finals, and take on the State Champion Crispus Attacks team. Connersville fans were mighty proud when the Spartans went down fighting. Seniors Ronnie Petty, Butch McGraw, John Entner, George Heine- man, and Dwight Sweet played their last game for C.H.S. They will long be remembered tor their ability and spirit.
