Honor Society Brains, brains, where are the brains? Everyone has a brain but remarkably few take the time or trouble to develop it. Yet, there are a few who do their best to learn the lesson of the mind. The group that best represents the academic achievement, as well as show responsibility at home, in church, at school, and in the com- munity, is the National Honor Society. The Honor Society includes much or most of the leaders for the other clubs and organizations. Members are accepted after close examination and must keep up their qualifications to stay in. Perhaps the secret of the Honor Student is simply that, It takes a lot of hard work to be smart. This year's activities included: scholarships to Vicki Seuell and Jodi Hudlowg sponsoring a dance, and repainting and designing the community-highway sign. Sandy Sackmann and Vicki Matsumura were selected to apply for National Honor Scholarships. Officers were: President - David Bauermeisterg Vice-president - Jodi Hudlowg Secretary - Vicki Seuellg Treasurer - Cheryl Shockey. Honors 81 A wards To receive an honor an individual must do something that is honorary or honorable. This may indeed sound easy but it is in reality often difficult to accomplish something outstandingg harder still for others to recognize the achievement as worthy of honor or praise. Knowing that someone will undoubtably be forgotten on our list, none the less, we would like to pay special homage to the fol- lowing students that displayed distinction. These pupils by bringing honor to themselves, also bring honor to our school and community. fOthers that deserve recognition can be found on almost every page of this bookb.
