's play, To admire the National Sport, Shouting from the bench the coach was heard, Man, that play was really weird. In Coach Saddler's first year at the helm of the Junior Varsity, he completed a successful season with a 10-9 record. The J. V. is a training ground for future varsity stars. Teaching, drilling, dia- mond errors and refining of athletic skills com- prise the lessons of baseball. Winning is not everything, but trying to win is reflects the light attitude that surrounds J. V, sports. The Coach's Award went to David Heimang highlight of the sea- son was a 12-11 loss to the faculty.

Connell Holds New Record The fans were there when Connell took the field. The question, Could Coach Hall's Eagles defend their reputation ? What would the sea.son hold in store. . . failure - success - injury? The time was now to prove their skills a.nd then the final results were in, this is how they scored - The perennial fa.vorites, the Eagles clawed all opposition and won the League Championship for the fifth straight year. Perpetually endless and unstoppable the team was victorious at District, bringing more gold and glory to Connell sports his- tory. Continuing the dynasty and setting school records were Kent Mackay fjavelinl and Randy Odom fdiscusp. The squad placed 13th behind the State A Track Meet record toss of 219' 6 by Kent Mackay and a 6th place finish by Curt Didier in the low hurdles. Randy Odom, Don Gibson in the two mile, and Didier in the high hurdles were other state parti- cipa.nts. Team honors went to Randy Odom and Kent Mackay, inspirational and captain res- pectively. Coaches Hall and Braddock warn all opponents, Connell has four State A re- cordst now. Just wait until next year.
