18 DEDICATION F. Edward Cranz Always striving to strengthen the bond between education and society, Pro- fessor F. Edward Cranz encourages his students to learn more than just the answers: he instills within them new ques- tions. To walk into his classroom is to enter upon another point in time, in history, and to expand one's mind until one can think as men have in the past. There is no such thing as passive educa- tion for Mr. Cranz. All aspects of one's mind are actively examined and applied to an area much more important than ex- ams or grades: to society. Since 1942 when Mr. Cranz began teaching at Con- necticut College, he has led students along a path of learning that goes beyond their four years of college, to question and examine life no matter where they live, no matter what occupation they have, no matter how old they may be. To Mr. Cranz, for all his guidance and dedication, we thankfully and lovingly dedicate Koin 1985. Becky Dynes for the class of 1985
