The first day of a student's college career will always be a memorable one. For the last eleven years Dr. Alice E. Johnson, as Dean of Freshmen, has enhanced this day with her wit and humor. She has welcomed and enlivened students to the possibilities that await them in the Connecticut College com- munity. We, the Class of 1970, will certainly never forget her hope that every day in every way we grow brighter and brighter. In 1969 Miss Johnson was made Associate Dean of the College and now serves the students and the college in a new capacity. Miss Johnson has also worked diligently within the English department, developing and teaching a course in Afro-American literature. Her colorful personality extends from the office to the classroom, to her active service on many student faculty committees. She is an integral part of our Connecticut College experience, and a person we feel honored to recognize in Koing 1970. It is with deep gratitude and appreciation that we dedicate Koine 1970 to Dean Alice E. Johnson. DEDICATION: ALICE E. JOHNSON
