However carefully a Master Plan is prepared, the only sure thing about it i i 2 5 S g e g that it won't all turn out This plan, by Skidmore, Owings Merrill, is a i : ; , : guess, but an interesti mforlmed one. Some of this shape of things to come is already apparenl;m'll'ag r?:i park?ng lot, for example, already exists between the Lyman Museum ar;d the old parlsmg lot south of Palmer Auditorium: site of the new Arts Center. The n?aw road system at that end of the campus is also taking shape. The Library- will prob- ably have a U-shape addition wrapped around its present stacks, and behind it there 270 CONNECTICUT COLLEGE NEW LONDON- COonNNECTICUT MASTER PLAN ?:g someday be a new Academic Building over part of the present City Reservoirs. college will probably need new dormitories within a decade. If so, where Sla;lould they be built? This Master Plan recommends a site just east of the present hofsljh Conplex Wil another'new parking lot for more student cars. New faculty HOus:g 1s planne'd for the hilltop beyond the riding stables, and the President's may turn into a Faculty Club. Even the main entrance to the College will Pr?babl.y be moved across campus, opposite the Arboretum, when the new bridge brings increased traffic to Mohegan Avenue.
