N THIS VOLUME OF KOINE the Class of 1954 has recorded its achievements and has given a picture of the College and its world during the years from 1950 to 1954. These years were important ones for the Class and for the College. The Class moves out now into a new world of increased responsibility and varied opportunity. The College will watch its progress with pleasure, confident in its success. And we hope that the College will seem to the Class as the years elapse, not just a haven of pleasant memories hut a continuing source of enlight- enment and insight, so that as a Class you will look hack on us not only with nostalgia but with gratitude. E, THE CLASS OF 1954, affectionately dedicate our yearhooic to Miss Bernice Vvheeier, in deep appreciation for the knowledge and inspiration she has imparted to us. in her position as instructor and Houseieiiow, she has stimulated our interest in the world in which we iive and has made us aware of the responsihiiity we all share in our college community. The seriousness ot purpose and whoiehearted enthusiasm with which she has undertaken her work has been a steady encouragement to us. Her genuine cheerfuiness, her sym- pathetic understanding of our prohiems, and her spontaneous sense of humor have made her a good counselor and an ideal Housefeiiow. Her friendship will remain one of the warmest and most valuahie memories of our college years.
