Sra Humphrey no ensena mas 1973 1983 Betty Lou Humphrey, CHS Spanish teacher, retired after the 1985-86 school year. Mrs. Humphrey had been a part of the Conneaut school system for thirteen teaching years. Mrs. Humphrey acquired her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University. During her teaching career she had taught both English and Spanish. Mrs. Humphrey taught one year at Dixon High School near the Ohio-Indiana border. She spent six years at Ashtabula High School before coming to CHS. Mrs. Humphrey felt that the most effective way to learn a foreign language was to practice. Her advice to students pursuing a Spanish-speaking career was, I would strongly recommend that they go to live in a Spanish-speaking country. In retirement Mrs. Humphrey looks forward to vacationing in Florida during the winter and spending more time with her recently retired husband Stanley, a former CHS guidance counselor. She hopes to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Humphrey's parting words were, Hasta luego, mis amigos!” Mrs. Humphrey conducts a vocabulary review in her Spanish II class during fifth period. 8
