and Mr. Tagle Retire After 29' i years of teaching, Mrs. Pitzer retired from CHS at the end of the first semester. She was granted retirement disability. During her career, Mrs. Pitzer taught English, speech and drama, grades 7-12. She was also involved in many extra-curricular activities. She, at one time, was in charge of Homecoming activities. As drama club advisor, Mrs. Pitzer directed several plays and musicals. Twelve years ago, she directed the musical Damn Yankees, which was also presented this year. She encouraged many students in the field of acting. Mrs. Pitzer earned her B.A. at Muskingum college in New Concord, Ohio, and her Masters at Edinboro University. Mr. Edilberto Tagle, special education teacher at CHS. retired after 36 years of teaching. Mr. Tagle taught for 17 years in the Philippines and 19 years in the United States, the last 14 of them in the Conneaut school system. From May, 194} until August, 1945 during World War II, Mr. Tagle was a guerrilla fighter against the Japanese in the Philippines. During his career in America, Mr. Ta- gle has taught special education to both elementary and high school students. Mr. Tagle mentioned that the most rewarding part of his career has been when the kids hold-and-keep-a job. The most tedious part has been the changes in the program.” Mr. Tagle earned his BSE at the Oriental Colleges in the Philippines, and his M.Ed at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. 7
