Mrs. Donnelly — 1963 Mrs. Donnelly, Mrs. Pitzer Mrs. Pitzer — 1972 Mrs. Joan Donnelly retired after a 27 year teaching career. She taught business education for 2 years at Rowe High School and 23 years at CHS following 2 years at Villa Maria Academy in Erie. PA. Mrs. Donnelly earned her BS degree in Business Education at Villa Maria College. She had taught shorthand, typing and accounting. Mrs. Donnelly, enjoyed teaching very much. It is frustrating at times, but it can also be a very rewarding experience.” She added that the highlights of her career were her students winning awards in various business contests. Over the years Mrs. Donnelly had been involved in Future Teachers of America, Business Club of CHS and graduation exercises. Mrs. Donnelly enjoyed the daily association with many nice young people. But, seeing her students develop skills and become independent workers was more satisfying. Her most tedious chore in teaching was proofreading reams of typing papers! Mrs. Donnelly's advice to students, do some studying EVERY day, participate in extracurricular activities, make the most of your years in school.” In retirement, Mrs. Donnelly plans to travel, read, golf, relax and spend as much time as possible outdoors. 6
