BOARD OF EDUCATION 21 SENIORS 3 OUR GIRL FROM This year at Conneaut High School has been like a dream that I would never dared have hoped to happen to me. Every day has held something new and exciting for me, something that was here momentarily, then gone, only to become a cherished memory. I know I will never forget your faces, as they will be printed indelibly on my memory along with each football and basketball game, the track meets, the senior play, the dances, assemblies, my classes, and would you believe the snow! If I was to say thank-you” for this most memorable year, to whom would I say it? To me it could only be insignificant, for there is not one person, no one group to whom I owe my thanks. It is to the whole of Conneaut. I will never forget the close friendships I have made here and I know I will be constantly wondering just what the future has held for each of you as I face my own in New Zealand. There is but one certainty in my future and that is my return here to Conneaut. Until that day I sincerely wish each and every one of you the best of luck in whatever your chosen career may be, and may God bless you all. Yours very affectionately, Janet and Jenny chat in front of A.F.S. board. DOWN UNDER Jenny meets her first trick-or-treaters. Jenny shows dances and costume of homeland natives. Slumbering with her first pair of snow boots! Our most enthusiastic sports fan receives a token tie tack. Sisters frolic in the snow. The Senior Class, through donations of coffee and donuts from the local merchants presented a refreshing rest stop for motorists throughout the nation. Folksingers Janet Thompson and Jenny Sanko provided entertainment accompanying themselves on guitars. The class was commended by the state and many happy tourists. Jenny and Janet sing their favorite folk tunes. 48 PROUDLY PARTICICIPATES IN LABOR DAY FESTIVITIES ... Travelers gather around for some coffee and donuts. 49 . .. CLEARS OLD CEMETERY . . . 50 . . . AND HOLDS SCRAP METAL DRIVE. (J The projects undertaken by the senior class were done so for the good of the class and the community. One project which existed throughout the school year was the Senior Bulletin Board. It changed faces nine times—each time depicting the season or special occasion of each month of school. The first project undertaken by the class of ’67 was that of cleaning up the old Durkee cemetery. It took several weeks of hard work but proved to be greatly appreciated by the community. The scrap metal drive was the final project of the graduating seniors. By helping people to rid their homes of unwanted metals, the class was able to build up their treasury by nearly $100. 51 Most enjoyed the variety of rides—a few were new at the experience—while still others preferred to loaf and enjoy the soft drinks and french fries. Everyone casts a final glance before boarding the buses with their stuffed animals, injuries, and fond memories of a most enjoyable day. 53 N s E N I O R S SCHOLASTIC ART AWARD: Allan Cameron JAY C-ETTES SERVICE AWARD: Frank Rossiter SOCIAL STUDIES AWARD: Virginia Garcia OPTIMIST AWARD: Jenny Sanko, Berta, Frank Rossiter 54 A W A R D S D.A.R. NETMEN Once again tennis has come to Conneaut High School. Even though the tennis team was relatively inexperienced compared to other schools in the league, they fared well under the fine coaching of Mr. Young. In addition to attaining a respectable 5-5 record, the team members made several new friends from other schools. As tennis is a gentleman’s game, it so follows that the tennis team practiced good sportsmanship both in victory and in defeat. All in all, it was a fine season. Truly a dedicated teacher, she at all times took a personal interest in her students. At no time was she too busy to give a deserving youngster that extra bit of in- struction. Not one to complain, Mrs. Yohe never sought sympathy, even during her long final illness. We at Conneaut High School feel deeply honored to have known, worked, and studied with Mrs. Grace Yohe. Her loss will be felt by all. SENIOR ACTIVITIES ALLSHOUSE, LINDA Dramatics 10; Cheerleader 9; Prom Committee 11.
