The couples were presented with programs designed by Richard Braun as they entered the gym by way of a small bridge crossing over a lily pond, and were seated at small tables centered with miniature wishing wells. The stage of the gym had become a rock garden com- plete with flower beds, bird baths, and flagstone walks. The loveseat, from which the king and queen reigned, was placed at the uppermost under a trellis covered with yellow crepe paper blossoms. Seated in an old-fashioned bandstand cen- tering the dance floor was the orchestra.
