The Band won third place in a contest of high school bands at Berea. Ohio. April 20. The Conneaut Senior High members are as follows: Donald Payn, Maurice De Pofi. Ernest Sippola, Virgil Wylie, Maralee Gruey. Barbara Annis, Willis Dickson. Robert Shearer, Thomas Pestak. Robert Wheeler. Arthur Klumph, Robert Kennedy, William Mallory. Alicia Smith. Genevieve Kellogg, Robert Kultie. Sherman Whipple. Paul Sanders, Ruth Borowski, Robert Mallory. Frank Draves. Elaine Hicks. Jack Ross, Robert Phelps, Francis Marvin. Ruth Herpy. OPERETTA The annual operetta. And It Rained, was presented March twenty-first and twenty-second in the high school auditorium. Mr. J. W. Sharp had charge of the music; Mrs. Velma Shepherd, dances; Miss Vera Bird, costumes; Mr. W. R. Donovan, stage setting; and Mr. Paul Sheehan, speaking parts. The leading parts were taken by Willis Dickson. Jeanne Murray. Charles Suttles. Ruth Rhinehart, Lois Kremer, Alberta Laughrey, Arthur Klumph, Sherman Whipple, Thomas Jenkins, Stuart Getz, and Duane Robinson. The choruses were made up of members of the Girl's and Boy's Glee Clubs. KENT SlllOl. AK.HIIIl TESTS In the Kent State Scholarship Tests held at Kent. Ohio. May 4. the following Conneaut High Students scored: Physics—Raymond Blood, first place; John Paulson, second place. Chemistry Jack Cheney, first place; Robert Kitson. fifth place. English II—Esther Johnson, fourth place. The excellent ranking of the students served to give Conneaut High eighth place in the city classification in which thirty-one schools were represented.
