Pasqualina Risser Comprehension Of The World Is Through The Languages Of Its People Communication among diverse peoples in the world today is of utmost importance, but is also a great problem. To remedy this problem at Conestoga Valley the language department uses numerous methods such as tapes, films, slides, outside speakers, foreign correspondences, and exchange students to stimulate sm- dent interest in these languages: French, Latin, Spanish, and Ger- man. The primary goal of the language program is to develop the student's vocabulary, fluency of speech, and cultural knowledge of the language. The student is advised to take full advantage of the total pro- gram offerod by the language course. In the first two years one begins to acquire fluency and knowledge of the language, but thereafter one develops a mastery of the language. Glenn S. Banner William R.
