Teachers Strive For Perfection In The Rapidbf Expanding Field Of Science The Conestoga Valley science department's major concern is to teach the student to observe and investi- gate natural phenomena. Added to the science department's equipment this year are the Phase Contrast Mi- croscope, used in biology to observcistructure of living organismsg Polarizing microscope, used in earth science to study structures of thin specimensg and the Strip Chart Recorder, used in Chemistry to make per- manent records of data. In addition to biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, senior science, advanced chemistry, and ad- vanced biology courses, the curriculum also includes a remedial biology course for those sophomores with a lower reading level and comprehension ability. In order to preserve the student interest the use of live material is used and all courses are laboratory oriented, spending approximately one-third of the time doing laboratory experiments.
