Chorus' Year Marked By Various Achievements C B Under the direction of Gerald Wingenroth, the 1971-72 chorus com- pleted a successful year consisting not only of its annual concerts but also of several television appearances. For the Christmas Concert the chonis presented Ralph Carmichael's A City of the King. Portions of the concert were taped by Channel 15 and aired on Christmas Day. Because of the excellent tradition of its performances, the chorus was invited to participate in the religious Sunday morning program, The Gospel Train. Although rehearsals were a break from the ordinary classroom rou- tine, they were nevertheless characterized by hard work and effort ex- erted by each member. The chorus officers, who assisted Mr. Wingenwmth in the organiza- tion of each performance were as follows: President, Stan Noffsingerg Secretary, Donna Bookg Business Manager, Dale Lappg and Librarians, Deb Gehman and Brenda Hoover. Accompanist and assistant accompa- nist for the chorus were Nina Woomert and Donna Leicy respectively. Opparite - Members of the bass section go over a difficult passage. Majorettes And Color Guard Enliven Hay-Time After four years of excellent performances, C.V. will be sorry to lose its outstanding featured majorette, Peggy Lacy. Having won more than 200 trophies during her twirling career Peggy captured first place as the best maiorette of the 1971 Ephrata Fair Parade. In addition to Peggy, the majorettes and color guard proved to be an extremely valuable asset in accompanying the band. The maiorettes, under the direction of Sandy Howry, spent long hours of practice in devising and perfecting their baton twirling and dancing routines. The color guard, hclmed by captain Diane Schaller, executed various marching drills along with the band. They also were responsible for the important function of exhibiting the flag during the playing of the na- tional anthem. Both the majorettes and color guard contributed very successfully in livening the halftime entertainment schedule of this year's exciting football season. . l its ' Above left - Maiorettes finish their routine by kneeling at attention.
