Majorettes And Color Guard Enliven Hay-Time After four years of excellent performances, C.V. will be sorry to lose its outstanding featured majorette, Peggy Lacy. Having won more than 200 trophies during her twirling career Peggy captured first place as the best maiorette of the 1971 Ephrata Fair Parade. In addition to Peggy, the majorettes and color guard proved to be an extremely valuable asset in accompanying the band. The maiorettes, under the direction of Sandy Howry, spent long hours of practice in devising and perfecting their baton twirling and dancing routines. The color guard, hclmed by captain Diane Schaller, executed various marching drills along with the band. They also were responsible for the important function of exhibiting the flag during the playing of the na- tional anthem. Both the majorettes and color guard contributed very successfully in livening the halftime entertainment schedule of this year's exciting football season. . l its ' Above left - Maiorettes finish their routine by kneeling at attention.
