T - ' .I 9512151 Student Council Finishes Another Active Year The 1971-72 Student Council, guided by President Pam Givler, sponsored various activities. The annual Homecoming weekend was supplemented with a float decorated by the student body. junior and senior girls once again fought for a victory in the traditional Powder Puff Football game on Novem- ber 16. The conventional Christmas Toy Drive sponsored by the council also proved a success. Not only did the council sponsor a variety of social events, but it also sought to better the school. For the first time, representatives to the council were chosen at large by each respective class. The student lounge was once again re-opened, this year however, to both juniors and seniors. The Student Council, as in past years, has given the students an active voice in life at C.V. Abou - Row I.' 70 N i ght To Remember A romantic, dimly lighted chamber crowded with elegantly clad couples and an accent of an'Ole Virginian atmosphere marked the set- ting for the 1971 junior-Senior Prom held on May 21 at the Dutch Town and Country Inn. The glamorous event surely generated a feel- ing of unforgettable enjoyment and excitement from within the hearts of every boy and girl present. Long tedious hours spent by the junior prom committee to create a successful environment for the occasion were complemented by the su- perb performance of Tiny Wright and his orchestra. At Dutch Lanes directly after the Prom itself, the Post Prom topped off the fun-filled social with a variety of games and entertainment enough to satisfy everyone. As a farewell to the seniors and a dramatic, new sensation for the juniors, the evening provided an unsurpassable experience which will be remembered for many years to come. Right - 'l he evening proved to be an enjoyable occasion for all attending. Above - Karen Vanl-lekken carefully calculates dimensions for the prom scenery. Rrlgbt - juniors and seniors dance to the sounds of Tiny Wright and his orchestra.
