A Cheerleader Is . . . Spirit! The '71-72 cheerleaders enlivened the fans with their bub- bling spirit. The girls, led by tri-captains Wendy Stambztugh, Pam Givler and Sylvia Vlfissler, kept the Buckskin spirit alive throughout the year. To increase participation by the student body they introduced new cheers and chants at pep rallies and bonfires. During the year. posters were hung in the halls by the cheerleaders to attain additional support for the athletic teams. Over the summer. ten of the girls attended a cheerleading camp at Wesley junior College while six others attended a camp in the Poconos. While there, they won the spirit stick, two first place trophies and superior ribbons. Overall the camp brought unity to the squad and a beginning of a new season, The '71-72 squad, advised by Betsy Bagshaw and her assistant Mrs. Cameron, includes five seniors. eight juniors and one soph- omore. These girls are Pam Givler. Brenda Andes. Sylvia Wis- sler, Cindy Libby, Wendy Stambaugh. Beverly Good, Cindy Nick. Cindy Bomberger, Vicki Glass, Joyce Metz, Deb Masten, Diane Hagmann, Nancy Casale, and Barb Darras. Oppatile - GO! FIGHT! WIN! Cindy Nick cheers the team on to victory over Columbia.
