Basketball: Side B Side . . . The CV dribblers had this season, not a group of individuals inl terested in only self-recognition, but rather a team Each person was striving for victory for the team and for the school. All the players had their own outstanding points. Danny Leaman was an exceptional ball-handler usually leading the team through any full court press, and four of the starting lineup scored in double figures. Steve Wanner at 6'4 averaged 17.5 points per game with Mark Esbenshade close behind, with a 14 point average. Fritz Stoner, the tallest player on the team at 6'5 averaged 11 points a game and john Shenk held a 12 point average. Coach Souders had a well-balanced team with a fine second string back-up man for each of the starting five. Don Byler, another fine ball-handler,joe Fuller, and john Sheaffer all should help the team next season when it competes in a new league with Lancaster and Lebanon County Schools. Opposite - Unguardcd, Steve Wanner takes a jump shot and scores in his usual man- DCI. TEAM: Krmling: S. Wanner and F. Stoner. Standing: Coach Soudcrs, M. Esbenshadc, j. Shcaffcr, K. Underhill, j.
