F ORE WORD Joseph Addison once wrote, I consider an human soul without education like marble in the quarry, which shows none of its inhe r ent beauties till the skill of the polisher fetches out the colors, make s the surface shine, and dis- covers every ornamental cloud, spot, and vein that runs through the body of it. And like the marble in the quarry, we, the class of '64, entered the corridors of Conestoga Valley four years ago as a young, impressionable group filled with high ideals but lacking one very basic necessity--the polisher, education. And so we set out to attain our goals and high ideals always with an eye to the future and a foot in the past, but continuously acquiring an education--afoundation upon which to build, a stepping stone from an idea to a reality, a power- ful force behind achievement. As you turn the pages of this annual and look upon the members of the cl as s of '64, you will see that no written theme has been followed, but as you gaze upon those seniors who will graduate in June, you can be sure we will be ready and willing to take on the world outside be c aus e we have seen fit to obtain the most important factor in a changing life--education.
