SENIGR PL Y Curtain Going Up by Gregory Johnston was presented by the senior class in the spring of 1959. Its title seemed singularly htting as this was the iirst dramatic production to be pre- sented on the stage of this high school. The play tells of the difficulties of producing a high school play. The scene is laid during the time of rehearsal. Poor Miss Burgess, who is directing her first play is faced with many prob- lems, among which are: a grouchy janitor, a set of comically crossed up high school romances. a charming but stagestruck heroine, her boy friend, a campus actor with a swollen head, a disgruntled athlete. a flamboyant professional actress, a banker's daughter who has been driven to theft by her father's ambition, and her own romance. Miss Burgess instructs class. Afraid!! forty-ciglzl
