Page 12 text: “CLASS HISTORY Our class was preceded by three years of rumor As a result of our various junior high antes we hod acquired a large reputation even before we met for the first of our 'Terge school days Conestoga hod taken great pans to broce it sort for me shock Teachers carried extra ciscpinary notices inside the» shrts. the grodng scale was sufficiently altered, and legislation was swffiy passed elrmnatng open sophomore study Trash cons were ined with non expiosrve material, and at movable objects were nailed to the floors and desks. They socn found that what they hod thought to be destructive tendencies were octualy indteotons of our ' creative energy (Some of us were just more creative than others.) The class of '81 entered school as o group of amvess nnocent. mpressonabio. and yes. creative kds As such, we were obvious targets for the criticism of our uppor cassmon Wo were told the thickest way to class, the easiest' way to cut gym and the most convenient way to get an A in art We experienced the torment of a closed study hat mo tortum of sknmng a frog in boiogy. and acqured (not without reason) the most derogatory title of our school — sophomore We hod already begun our hab-t of leavmg our mark when school -eopenod n 1079. We hod our class logo. The doss of ‘81 has just begun panted on the cafeteria wet Our doss officers. Chris Phelan. Sandy Shcxjd Ady Baongue and Kim Harrison were elected and began a fine term In office under the dree ton of Mr Barr Our first class projoct was qut© appropriately a fund raiser It was that typical low-profit, high chaos car wash m 40 degree weather we con at identify with - we froze more than our hands. Shortly thereafter, there was a not-so-successful Anythng Goes Ha oween dance - nothng went Homecoming was an event that year that was only enhanced by the Sophomores charming float A saloon scene was the subject of Htto money and much fun for those nvotved. The footbai team won the game with a score of 14-10 over Marpie-Newtown The Sophomore court was elected, and Am Bonner. Martn Derrpsey. Scott MocEtwee. Joanna Lops. Before we knew it. it was November ogam and the Court for Homecoming hod once again been chosen Sue Stonko. Jooma lops L«a Hallo way. Morn Dempsey. Scott MocEiwee and Bricn Dye served as ou Junior Court and did a good job too Our tVxrt began to be more 9’own-up-Hce as we reconstructed the common and well-known mouth of Jaws The game was a victory, ana we once ogam defeated Marpie by 7 beautiful points Soon Cabaret come about and we were entertaned by such memorable octs as Tere wiien s daneng 'em Sotfords basso' voice, the reore appeorance of the Sexy Centipede and the senous monologue on hor. presented to us by a man with no hairi Cabaret was set off wen by the two famiar faces of emcees. Tripp Crc»g ond Sandy Shoud 1980 was the frst year of the new ‘radWion of the ''Bottle of the Pioneers Perhaps we need not mention that we dd not wm Our class's school spirit, shall we soy LACKS! Elected as officers to the Junor Executive Councl were Judy Boongue. Sancy Shoud. Kim Horrson and Chris Phelan Through these officers, we were able to hove a memorable (fake it any way you choose) Junio Prom at me Sheraton n Vasey Forge For those who may not remember that night, we were entertained by Numbers. our theme was Moke it With You. Prepara on for Senor Week began n September and lasted tnti the day we returned from fun in the sun Homecoming become a greater event for us as seniors We hod more varstty players on the team and the kmg and queen for Homecommg would be chosen from our court representatives Congratulations to the king and queen. Tripp Cn g ond Ekjne Ashton hosted our show and introduced me unforgetabe acts such os The Brody Bunch. The Dating Game. Aerobic Dancers and the Bums The money earned from this led us to a successful Senior Prom. Leave it to our class to be differenti We deeded to break away from the fractional bona and go for a cosmic sound experience what the •' a that? SIVER SOUND! Also developing along with plans for the prom were the exciting ideas brewing for the Senior Class Party. The deo was to have It aboard a showboat on the Delaware The Pioneer of the Month award was appropriately given to Whitney Pyle. Liza Heom and Ferae mgr am at the beginning of the year Other quakfed pioneers were saluted as the year wore on Some thmgs Ore better eft unsold, and this is probably one of them We w never forget Gente Flowers Need we say more?
