Chris Staub. 151 Senior Variety Show 152 “Fiddler on the Roof” f On November 9 and 10, Conestoga Senior High presented the highly acclaimed musical “Fiddler on the Roof; a combined effort by both the drama and music departments. This monumental production fea- tured not only the talents of the orchestra, but also the finest vocalists and actors in the school as well as the largest cast to be in any single production in the history of the Hobson C. Wagner memorial stage. Fine faculty efforts were put forth by Dr. Harold Hayes, Dr. Anton Kiehner, Mr. Paul Vanderslice and Mrs. Nancy Crawford. Heartwarming per- formances were delivered to sell-out audiences both nights by new ac- tors as well as veterans of the stage. 155 homecoming, 1973 The three-day Homecoming extravaganza was launched at 7:30 Wednes- day night, with a pep rally that packed Teamer Field. CHS students found themselves playing host to the visiting ‘‘queens” from nearby schools and to the ‘‘ugliest man on earth,” as well as to Homecoming Queen Tina Di- Marcantonio and her attendants, Bailey Symington and Linda Hudson. Despite such minor disasters as the lodging of the senior float between two gateposts, and ‘‘queen” Bill Britt's losing battle against the law of gravity, the evening met with overwhelming approval from the students of CHS. 160 Thanksgiving morning began early for not only the foot- ball players, who were served a standard training break- fast in the cafeteria, but also for the large number of alumni, students, and families who attended the highly successful Pancake Breakfast. Crowning the mornings highlights was, of course, the game itself — at which the Pioneers creamed West Chester, 16-0. Center. Early in the season the team proved they were not discouraged by their less-than-winning image of past years by beating rivals Marple Newtown, Interboro, and Sun Valley. To qualify as a state finalist on the uneven parallel bars. Holly had first to triumph in the Central League championships, the districts, and the regionals. Coach Kenneth Cowperthwait expects an even more successful season next year, as the team will be losing only four members to graduation. The many underclassman gymnasts who will be returning next winter will have gained much in the way of experi- ence from their outstanding performance this year. Row 1 (L-R): B Daniels. H Peters. J.
