PHECY Well, here we are at the annual Alumnae Dinner-Dance. I'm surprised to see so many girls from our class here. ltls really hard to believe that ten years have passed since we left the doors of C.V.M.H. in 1966. I think I'll do a little table hopping and see what everyone's doing. Why there are two of my old roommates, Janet Richardson and Jane Lantzy. I see Jane made the Army her career, iudging by the bars on her husband's shoulders. Janet, after being discharged, married and now works part time in the OR at Lee Hospital. I hear Sharon Streilein was made instructor at Tampa, Florida, OB and Gyne Hospital. She replaced Vicki Hudacek, who gave up her career to stay home with her husband and seven children. lt's plain to see that Joyce Morton got the degree she always wanted-her MRS. Gloria ladarola drove down in her Mustang convertible from Philadelphia, where she works at the Children's Hospital. She and her husband also operate Gloria's Pizza Parlor there. We have a celebrity with us tonight, Norma Yost. She fulfilled her former prophecy and is now a T.V. nurse. Would you believe that Jayne Kreger and Irene Heinbaugh are still roommates out in California? Jayne's a school nurse now and spends her free time surfing, while Irene, doing private duty nursing, is still saving for a round-the-world trip. Alice Thornton recently purchased a greenhouse. She nurses her patients by day and her posies by night. Linda McGee and Judy Rerko are looking better than ever. They've been working in New York and are still busy enioying life, as usual. Who's that blond in the mink coat? Could it be Beverly Ream? I guess she finally hooked her millionaire. There's Jane Neely, now a Mrs. Judy Ober and Betty Strank also married shortly after graduation and are contented housewives. I'm happy to see Roxeen Burk and her doctor husband took time out of their busy office in Pitts- burgh to come tonight. I noticed their Cadillac in the parking lot. Norma Gindlesperger says that Donna Hanak, who is employed with her on the staff at CVMH, is unable to be here tonight. Donna, after all these years of saving, is enioying her vacation in Hawaii. Janet Wicks and Bonnie Bloom are also still with our alma mater and are Johnstown residents. Janet is now head nurse in maternity. Lynda and Dr. Azar are spending a year with the Peace Corps and were unable to come tonight. Also, Shirley McClain is enjoying nursing around the world with the Navy. I see two of our Pediatric nurses here, Kay Gides and Joyce Hershberger. Kay has six little ones of her own, also. ls that Molly Sanders and with her Sue Ringler? Molly works in a doctor's office in Washington, D.C. while dating all the eligible men there. Sue and her husband also reside in D.C. with their three children. Joy Carver says she is employed on the faculty at Philadelphia General and hopes to become Director of Nursing there soon. Peggy Ebersole received her degree in nursing while working at Western Psychiatric Hospital in Pitts- burgh, and she has iust accepted a teaching position at TSH. Now the dancing is starting and the music is wilder than ever these days. My, that little girl over there certainly can dance. l'll have to get a closer look. Why, that's Bonnie Havener! I should have known. There's Mickey Yanik, too. I heard she can be seen riding to work every morning 'at the Windber Hospital on her Honda. Kathy Labosky says she must leave early as she is working ll-7 in Pediatrics. She loves children but believes they are nicest when sleeping. Jackie Stewart was always winning awards. Will the next one be Mother of the Year? Since her remarriage, I hear she is doing quite well. Susan Fritz says she's been traveling from place to place since graduation. She has recently settled in New Jersey with her husband and four children. l see Irene Lazor married her old school sweetheart. I believe she's working at the nursing home in Johnstown. lt's almost time to go now. The band is playing the good night song. It certainly was nice see- ing all our old friends again and finding out what and how they are all doing. As for myself, my novel on my experiences as a student nurse sold very well, and I'm now beginning another on Success in Marriage. Gloria Gray '66 31
