FACULTY FACULTY ORGANIZATION OFFICERS Left to right: Mrs. Isabel Tackett, Mrs. Murilla Himes, Mrs. Betty Betterman. The program of the School of Nursing is administered through the Faculty Organization. Administration is said to be the function which controls the character of an institution. It is a highly cooperative process begin- ning with the definition of the philosophy and obiectives and the formulation of the program in light of the philosophy and obiectives. The primary aim of cooperative planning is to achieve systematic group thinking so thatproblems may be solved through group action rather than individual decision making. The Faculty Or- ganization is structured into committees responsible for carrying out the various obiectives of the program. These working committees are responsible to the Faculty Organization as a whole and activities and decisions made represent total faculty thinking and action. 56
