1963 IIL!-155 PHUPHEIIY The year is 1973, iust ten years after gradua- tion of the Class of 1963. I wonder what every- one is doing now. I think l'll take a trip and try to locate the members of the class. My first stop is the airport where I have a reservation on the X-73, a new supersonic let plane. I am greeted at the door ofthe plane by the stewardess who is none other than PAT MERRITT. When I tell Pat of my proposed plan, she offers to help by contributing the following information about the class members she has seen on her cross country trips. NANCY ARCURI is now living in.Ohio where she and her husband own a chain of Shopping Centers. CAROL GEORGE and JOANNE BROWN are putting their nursing skills to good use as they care for the many ills which befall a growing family. LOIS SHOLTIS and BETTY WILLIAMS are spending part of their time each day at the Sholtis Day Nursery in New Jersey and the Williams Day School in Mass- achusetts. ln Philadelphia, DONNA BELCHER is content working in the office of her husband who is a prominent Pediatrician, while LAVERNE BOM- BACH is employed at the Philadelphia Polyclinic Hospital as Operating Room Instructor. CATHY GEISER is head nurse of the Surgical Section at a famous Research Center in New York. PATTI PRITTS and DONNA KUSHNER work part time at the hospital on the Air Force Base in Tennessee where their husbands are in command. SARA CAYUELA and MUNCIE DUDASH are enioying the sun and warm weather in Florida where they own and operate the Caydash Nursing Home for the Aged. JUDY FORNWALT is working each summer in the First Aid Station at the Indianapolis Speed Way which she and her husband own. LIZ SIDONE and SANDY HOYT work three days a week at the Indiana State School for the Handicapped, during the rest of the week they are busy raising their families. SHARON BERKHEIMER is happily married and living in Illinois where her husband heads the Chemistry Department at the University. They are the proud parents of twin girls. PEGGY MIHELCIC keeps very busy combining the role of wife and mother with the role of president of the Missouri Nurses Association. In Detroit, Michigan, SANDY PATRICK is satisfied with taking care of her grow- ing family, but still manages to find time to take part in community activities. At this point Pat excused herself in order to inform the passengers of a ten minute stop in Denver, Colorado to pick up other passengers. As she leaves, she hands me the current issue of the Modern Nursing magazine. I glance at the at- tractive cover and upon looking inside, I learn that it was the creation of SUSAN KILMER wlho is the Art Editor for the Worthwhile Publishing Company. As I read further, I discover that the Editor of the magazine is EVELYN KONITSKY. Many of the latest styles in uniforms are designed and manufactured by the Morgan Uniform Center which is headed by RHONWEN MORGAN. .lust then Pat comes back and reports that BARBARA PENCOLA and JAY ANN WEAVER came aboard. Barb and Jay Ann are self-employed as nurse-travel companians and are enroute to Cal- ifornia to begin a new case. In the course of our conversation, they report that while on their last case, they visited Paris where they saw LINDA MULL and KAREN ZAR whose husbands are serv- ing as peace ambassadors in Europe and were presently stationed in France. While in London, they saw JUDY WETZEL who is touring Europe with the Metro Opera Company. As we are traveling over Arizona, Pat informs me that NANCY FRAMBACH is serving as nurse for the Colorado River Reservation of Moiave Indians while her husband is teaching at the Res- ervation school. Upon landing in California, I realize that I have information on each of the members of the 1963 class. You ask what l'm doing in 1973, why l'm the author of a new book iust released to the public, entitled The Class of 1963 In 1973.
