Much emphasis is placed on the care of children in the nursing curriculum. This care includes the maintenance of a healthy body as well as a sound mind. Principles of child guidance are given to each student in ward conferences as well as in regular classes on Pediatrics to be used as tools for practice on the ward. A widened recognition of the duties to both the child and his family en- larges the nurse's view of complete nursing care. Attending out-patient clinics is also a part of the teaching curriculum. There is no other field in which the nurse plays as im- portant a role. What the nurse is as well as what she does, leaves its impression on every child committed to her care.
