The treatment of the person who has tuberculosis is just as im- portant as the treatment of the disease. Affiliation student nurses develop an appreciation that the patients are people with a past, present and future. Their horizons broaden as community agencies become more than Words or initials, and as rehabilitation programs become the total service rendered to the patient. The hospital and the community come into focus and probably for the first time in their lives, the students glimpse the cyclorama of human relationships and activi- ties rather than the isolated seg- ment which has composed their professional World.
