CLASS HISTORY The start of our freshman year was delayed about three weeks by a teacher strike. When classes re- sumed things quickly returned to normal, with homework, formation of clubs and a more intense in- terest in athletics. Our freshman year marked some new beginnings at C.V.H.S. It was the first time we were able to enjoy shortened Fridays, to participate in P.I.A.A. wrestling, and to see girls participate in varsity track and field. Our sophomore year Was marked by the resignation of our principal, Blaine Gjurich. Until Mr. Gjurich was replaced, our guidance counselor, Mr. Sikurenic took over the responsibilities of adminis- tration of the high school. In December, Mr. Podratsky was hired to fill the vacancy. Mr. Podratsky intended to make changes, changes we often found hard to accept, but he did succeed in setting many precedents and as time passed, the gap between us began to close. Looking back, our junior year is to be considered the most normal of all four. It was a settled year, without many changes or interruptions. As juniors, we sold magazines to provide for a memorable Jun- ior-Senior Prom. We also were involved in selecting class rings, which provided enjoyment and stirred pride in all of us. Our Senior year really began before school started. Again a strike delayed the starting, but the sen- iors were involved in discussions and meetings designed to learn about the situation and to get involved in bringing about a speedy end to the strike. The strike didn't halt extracurricular activities entirely, but reduced interest in and support for them. School did begin in mid-October, and shortly after re- turning, the Senior class sold cleaner to pay for the Senior banquet. This year was also marked by the football team's trip to Florida to see the Orange Bowl. As graduation day quickly approaches we are busy making plans for our futures. We face the future with faith in God, faith in ourselves and faith in one another.

,,g..-naw High school, too, will bring back memories. We've grown and our horizons have widened. We became aware of the world around us, how it affects us now and how it will shape our futures. Changes make every generation entirely unique and, at the same time, draw us together in so many ways. , - - --1 I . ,
