CLASS HISTORY T1 'T ck'T1ck'Tock' I am a helpmate of Father Time Since 1911 when I was placed here I haxe ticked axx ax the hours xx hich haxe meant s0 much to the students l1x1ng them August 28 1941 I xx as rudelx axxak ened from the peaceful quiet w hlch I had enlox ed all summer School had begun and the clatter of feet up the stairs an nounced the arr1x al of the noisy green es Thex slld to a stop at the top of the stairs and next to me thex perceix ed the directorx Finding the alphabetical index they departed to their home zooms This xx as my first but by na means last glimpse of the class of 45 As I am located near the fountain and the bulletin board I knew what was go ing on It was easx to pick out the fresh men by the boners which thex pulled and by the w av thex acted After they were settled into the routlne of school and had ceased to find themselxes in the wrong classes I learned that thex had elected the follow ing officers Robert Colbelt Vice President Claire Walker Treasurei Sue Graham Secretary Later in the fall thex held a wlener ioast at which dozens of hot dogs and cartons of marshmallows were consumed As sophomores the class was more sophisticated and surer of themselves tnan they had been as freshmen From conxersations around the fountain I learned that thex had held their wlener io ist and had elected their officers Th1s xear Sxlxestex Gyurich xvas president Edmon Bexrootx was x1ce president Clane Walker was treasurer and Lois Fold was secretary On October 31 the class decked themselx es out in grotesque costumes and appeared at the Firehall for a grand Halloxve en partx 1943 found the class as Jolly Jun iors Thex under the leadershlp of these officers Edmon Beyrootx President Tom Grove Vice Plesldent Charlotte Golden Treasurer Lois Ford Secretary began at once to earn monex for the Prom They held skating parties and dances throughout the xeai On April 13 I heard xxeud sounds arising from the lower halls To mx great rellef I learned that this xvas only the contest ants tuning up The Juniors xx ele hold 1ng an amateur hour Dorothx Yasko came out on top holding the first prize a So bill for tickling the IXOIIQS of her piano accord1an After acqulttmg themselxes well in their play Thumbs Up the iuniors were readx and eagel for the Prom From the details which I ox erheard at the bulletin board on the Nlondav after the Prom a good time was certainly had by all The surplus monev in the treasury was used to furnish eats for a big p1cn1c held at Miss Fresh s farm Time passes quickly and now we find the class as seniors who certainlx know their way around After electing their officers Donald Rorabaugh President Edmon Bexrooty Nice Presldent Ed ward Woolf Treasurer and Marv Ban kowsky Secretarx our snappy seniors plunged into their act1x1t1es with vim and vlgor Rings were ordered and class officers and representatix es met to select announcements for the class To add money to the treasurx thex sold name cards and Christmas cards As I kept time of the winter daxs they reallx went to xvork on t ieir Class Book In 'VIarch and April guxs and gals passed beloxv me with their noses in orange plax books and I stretched my pendulum to read the title Brother Goose Goodness IS is tlme for the Senior Play?
