Q 134 DIAMOND BALL In September 1941 about fifteen girls vent out for Dia- mondball practice, We elected Betty Lofthouse as Captain of the team for the season, We had several veteran players, and all the girls played enthusiastically, However, we lost our first some of the season to Northville, We played J two games losing both of them, The opring Season opened with a sohedule-of four games, The Spartans won the first two with Stratford and Northville, by a scant margin of one point each game, We play 1 Brent- ford May lst, Our last game with Warner on May 15th, Anna Herring and Betty Lofthouse will not be on the team next year but the team will make an enviable record, Our first game last fall was dropped to Brentford with a score of 15 to l, The second that was played brought an- other loss to the Team, They bowed to the Northville team by a score of 7 to 4, The spring games were entirely different, The first game that was played, with Stratford, was a victory by a margin of one score, The score being 8 to 7 in favor of the Sprinters, When the Northville girls met our team on our own field they were faced with defeat, In a very fast game the girls from Conde forged ahead to a final score of 14 to 13
