JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY Our Great Adventure began on September 1, 1959, hen we enrolled in High School. We gallantly suffered the h dship of initiation and became full pledged members of t high school. Donald Quinn was elected to lead us through 'the year with Edith Hanson and Robert White as co-leaders. ' Mr, Sabaka was chosen our class advisor. Donald ,Quinn and Dorothy Taylor were our members to the Student Council. We began end ended our first year, with twenty-one people,hav- ing lost one pupil end gained another, namely, Austin Nash, who ddopped out of school and Donalda Olson who entered from Bradley. We were well represented in all activities outside of class, namely music, baseball, kittenball, and basketball As a celebration on becoming Sophomorcs, we greatly enjoyed the annual Picnic, at Lake Kampeska. Enrnlling the following year we found that we stall had twenty-one members two of whom wen? new, Lloyd Lyren , Alc- ester and Grace Gross of Bradley, 'hese two replaced Donald Quinn who moved to Aberdeen and Violetta Johnson who moved to California. We ended the yeer with nineteen members,how- ever, due to the fact that Grace Gross dropped out of school and Luella Lokcn moved to Watertown. To replace our old leaders we elected Dorothy Taylor as leader-in-chief and Neil Lenz and Frances Dunne as co-leaders. Betty Schneider and Lloyd Lyrcn were chosen to represent us in the Student Council and Mr. Koski was chosen class advisor. Un Septem- ber 2O the Freshman and Sophomores were hosts at a weiner roast given three miles Freshman ye but did not nament. At the picnic, for the entire high school. This was held about from town and all students hiked out. As ln our r we were well represented in outside activities show up well in the annual class basketball tour the end of our Sophomore year we greatly enyoyed again held at Lake Kampeska. Our Junior year, 1941-1942, began with gredt promises, for we had as many students in our class as were in the Senior Class. Later, however, we lost Dorothy Taylor, who moved to Brentford. He elected Betty Schneider as leader with Neil Lenz and Eleanor Dittus as co-lenders. 1M1ss O'Leary was chosen as class advisor. The Student Council, had more significance for us this year, as we were permitt- ed to have four members in it. They were: Betty Schneiden Wava Morrill, Robert White, and Neil Lenz. We found our Jun- ior year much more exciting, for now we could enter into act subsequently the annual ivities such as the school paper and which we took charge of at the beginning of the second sem- ester. We also put on n Junior Play, HOh, Promise Mein on November 14. Another privelege that we enjoyed was the Jdun- lor-Senior Banquet and Prom held May 14. The class also took part in a large share of the activities. In the class bask- etball tournament we ranked second. Me are anxiously look- ing forward to the picnic that will mark another milestone in our Great Adventure. 56
