SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Twenty-one Seniors graduate this spring from this greet institution of learning, Conde High School. They greduete es young men ene women who are refdy end eager to compete with mathematical end ecientifie thinking in the problems of the world of today. ' But four years ego the situation wee quite different. We did not know how to think ecientificellyg in fact, we scarcely knew how to think et all. There were twenty-four members in the cleeethengeaeh one of us feeling new and rather lost. The upper-clnesmen didn't do much to help usg both the Seniors and the Sophomoree had e chance to initiate ue--I might add that both oleeses made the most of their chance. But after initiation week wfe over, we began to feel quite at home. Mr. Schultz was our class advisor and Mae Boullion was our president. Many members of our class went our enthusiastically for athletics :nd mueic. ' Some oven studied. Vclois Bymfrs, Keith Taylor, Lila Herr, Jerry Thomas, and Edward Brown made the honor rolll During the course of the year we gained Lorraine Nelson, Alton app, and Reese Mathieug but Louie Tennis decifed to take e vaca- tion nnd wait another year before ftrrting high echool in earnest. The Freehmen with the help of the Sophomores entertain- ed the entire high school at e picnic out at , the second bridge. The mnjority of the Freshmen clfss attended the school picnic which wrs held et Lake Kempeskr. On September 4, 1959, twenty-four of us came beck to Conde High ee Sophomores, elthough Kenneth Rehm fnd Vnlole Bymere, for some unoxplrined reeeon, decided to enroll in Turton High, end Reese Mathieu etryed in Verdon High for his Sophomore yerr. Esther Brin joined us in the middle of the yerr.nnd Graco Gross was with us for n ehort time. We, with the help of the Freshies, gave a picnic for the high school, out at the second bridge. All of thoee who managed to walk that far had a good time and plenty to ret. Edward Brown wee elected presidfnt of our elves and Mies Grnboweki was our clree advisor. Again our clrce was well represented in music and athletice. In the middle of the year Opal Chandler mfrrifd and moved to Cnrpenter. Alton Rapp was gone from our midst for three months on account of a broken leg. We rleo lost Lorraine Neluon, who moved to Huron. That year-both the Student Council end the Pep Club were organized. Keith Taylor end Betty Lefthousc represent- ed our class in the Student Council. A majority of thegirls joined the Pep Club. This year it wee our turn to initiate the Freshies, but insteed of initieting them rs we had been initiated, we gevc them e perty. , This, our second ye:-r ,.n high school found egreet numb!! of our class studying harder--a few even get ell WA'sW.
