With many an inward qualm we suffered . the initiation lmpended upon us by our Sophomore predecessors. It was with great rejoicing that we attended the initiation party which marked an end to our suffering. We elected as our leaders during our first year: Donald Quinn, President, Edith Hanson, Vice-President, Robert White, Secretary-Treasurer. Donald Quinn and Dorothy Taylor were our members to the Student 'Jcuncil and Mr. Sabaka was our class advisor. Austin Nash dropped from school ln March and left us with still twenty-one members as Donalda Olson of Bradley had enlisted at the beginning of the second term. We were represented in band, mixed chorus, and girls glee club by fourteen members. In basketball, by two mem- bersg baseball, two At the close picnic at Lake Kamp we still had twenty members, and klttenball, seven members. of the school year all of us enjoyed the ska. Enrolllng on September 2, 1940, as Sophomores, we found one members, two of whom were new: Lloyd Lyren of Alc ster and Grace Gross of Bradley, replac- ing Donald Quinn who moved to Aberdeen, and Violetta Johnson, who moved to California. For our leaders during our Sophomore year we elected: Dorothy Taylor, President, Nell Lenz, Vice-Presldentg Frances Dunne, Secretary-Treasurer, and Betty Schneider and Lloyd Lyren as our members to the Student Council. We chose Mr. Koski as our advisor. During the year we lost two more members: Grace Gross and Luella Loken, the former to Bradley and the latter to Watertown, thus leaving our class with only nineteen members to continue the year. On September 20, the Freshmen and Sophomore classes were hosts at a Weiner roast given for the entire high school. ' We were well represented in the nigh school fctivitiss, having eight members in band, ten members in mixed chorus: two members in boys glee club, eight members in girls glce clubg two ln baseball, three in basketball and eight in diamondball. We are looking forward with anticipation to the picnic to be held at the close of the year at Lake Kampcska. 40
