Yes sort of' But we soon outgrew that The frst few days were very puzzllng to us we could not understand that when a bell rang It meant me were to Jump and run to a big t1n lock er try our level best to open It and wnen we flnally d1d grab a book or two and face a new teacher but we soon learned the routme lhe flr t b1g thmg we d d vxas to have a class electxon Mxss Wexs berg was chosen advlser Ralelgh Wrseman pres1dent Frank Coonc v1ce pres1dent Tony Urs1r1 secretary and treasurer and V1fg1H1a Roller class reporter The Sophofnores d d the next by g1v1rg us a party a very n1ce party xndeedl Altho we d1d not say anyth1ng to our super1ors the year we gave the Sophomores a return party which went over rucely and brought an end to our Freshmen year In the fall of 1930 we took the Sophomore s oath of Off1CC and resolved to make xt a great year We surely gave It to the Freshmen Poor things' Th1s br rgs me to our Jurlor year and what a year full of thr1lls good tlrnes and success We elected our offxcers Mrss Orr was chosen our adv1ser Kenreth Fry presldent Elmer Olson v1ce presrdent Helen Baxter secretary and treasurer and V1rg1n1a Roller class reporter Our most 1mportant task th1s year was the Jumor Vodvll and through the ao 11 ty and co operat1on of the class and the able advlce of Mxss Orr and other teachers we brought It through w1th Llymg colors Now It 1S trme for the Junlor Semor banquet and when these last few weeks of school are over we will be Semors' D1gr1f1ed? IRYANICA-lQ32'lfi Y 1 'l1 Freshmen Class Hrstory On September erghth rn the good shrp C H S the ranks were open for enllstment Mr Bolton our captaln was on deck wrth hls assrst mg offlcers as the shlp started out on rts voyage On September frfteenth the seventh day of our voyage the Boots or Freshmen Class held a meetmg to elect class offlcers We chose as follows MISS Moe adv1ser Franklln Barta presrdent Ferne Norvell reporter Dorald Leonard yell leader The seas were calm untll October second when the Second Class Seamen or Sophomores took lt upon themselves to 1n1t1ate the Boots A party was grven 1n therr honor The w1nd howled o er the angry waters and lt was a rough mght for the Boots They weathered the storm well and proved themselves as worthy seamen December brought a weeks leave of absence whrle January welghed anchor and we were away on our voyage agam Waves rolled by and on February twenty srxth the Boots gave a party rn honor of the Second Class Seamen It was the brggest success of the season Agam on March twenty frfth we rushed down the gangway Aprrl fourth we were all glad to return to the bleached deck of old F H S We sarled and salled as wrnds rnrght blow untll we reached the port for whrch we were bound On May twenty seventh the good shrp C H S slowly steamed 1nto port The cry land ho' land ho' came forth from every passenger The gangplank went down wrth a bang and the voyage of 1932 was over Ferne Norvell 13 I A I 'JG l I 'l 1 7 Y r l O ' ' ' ll !7 - - 1 1 ' ' 1 If li Y Y .
