Protests, marches, demonstrations, racial injustices . . . LSD, and The Hippies, flowers and bananas, pot . . . war vs. peace, isolation vs. involvement, mini-skirts, free love . . . CHAOS. Each year seems to bring more problems to our already too-fast moving culture, where people seem only to be money, speed and love crazed. 1967 brings more prob- lems to our age, to the young, the college student, the with-it, the turned-on generation. More problems and more challenges. Which way do we go? Do we move with or against? To whom can we turn? Why? Concordia is a distinct community of people, many having a similar background, and all sharing a common faith. It is a community of people trained for action in today's world, to be in the world, but not of the world, to be examples of Godls selfless love for mankind, through Christ, the Savior. Concordia is a place where each member grows in the knowl- edge of the wondrous world before him. Concordia is a time where each individual must explore his own feelings, doubts, and purposes. Concordia is a training ground for the fu- ture. Concordia is a COMMUNITY UNDER GOD, with Christ being its spiritual head. And if God be for us, who can be against us? We will be ready to meet the challenge the world places before us today, 1967, both in our personal lives and in our relation to others, to meet each need with action and with the Lord as our guide. ONE COMMUNITY UNDER GOD

r.. On a campus such as ours, we have the opportunity to live together in Christ. Concordia means living together in harmony and concord. Professors and students alike share this feeling of Christian togeth- erness. We share this feeling in all facets of campus life - worship, sports, classes and fellowship. One man in particular is especially concerned about students and our Christian worship life. As our campus pastor, he is concerned that we worship orderly and properly. Thanks to this man the daily chapel services and worship program of our campus are run smoothly and very efficiently. - As our campus pastor, he also has great concern about the individual student and professor. He has his own Open Door Policy. Each and every student passing his office sees him at his desk ready and able and willing to talk with and to help them. In chapel, in class, in his office, or in the hall one sees him as a man dedicated to his Lord and serving Him as we should. His faith is a real and livable thing to him and he indeed influences those who come into contact with him. 4 And thus, we the students of the C.T.C. community dedicate this 1967 Pillars to Daniel E. Poellot, our campus pastor and friend.
