PWS' 'S of WHAT IS CONCORDIA? Concordia is a college. It is a community of Christian scholars, It is a professional school of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. It is forty acres, dotted with classrooms, residence halls, faculty housing, and Grace Church. Concordia is a place of frightened freshmen, speculative sophomores, iaunty juniors, serious seniors, and grateful graduates. It is a place to love and to be loved, a marriage bureau, a hothouse of ideas, an arena for ideological battle, and a confrontation of preiudice and stereotypes. Concordia is a community of the successful and the failures, the com- pany of saints who are yet sinners, the family of God and the fellow- ship of the faithful, the laboratory for future teachers, and the practicum for wild-eyed idealists. Concordia is a classroom for teaching and learning, for lectures and discussions, for vigorous controversy and peaceful consensus, for chang- ing and growing, for enrichment for service, for waking up to the issues of life and death. Concordia is imperfection, futility, fearfulness, frustration. It is discov- ery, devotion, and dramatic dreams. Concordia is a place to pray, to read, to study, to eat, to sleep, to complain, to Wonder, to hope, to debate, to agree, to play, to work, to worship, to wait for the Lord, and then to say: Here am I, send meI And I-le does! Concordia is a century old. It's still the same C.T.C. underneath. What will Concordia be in 2064? Who cares? God does. Do you? M. L. Koehneke President
