Pallets and Picasso Mr. John Sturmfels, M.A., Art 1, II, Art apprecia- tion, world history. Larry Hughes brings a touch of Greenwich Village to Concordia. Since, at least in theory, man today has nnore leisure time than ever before, more em- phasis IS being placed on culture. Concord- ia ' s cultural unit, the art department, agai n offers Art I and II and art appreciation. The art courses are designed to teach the students to use the techniques of art. They learn to ex- press their feelings and ideas effectively through their projects. Art appreciation, a study of art as an enrichment to life, helps the student to develop culturally. This course covers the evolution of art from past civiliza- tions to the art of 1964. Karen Lupke, Lynn Imler and Linda Daseler experiment with the art of sculpture. - 20-
