The Art Department K. Runkel is surprised to see how B. Weimer has decked out her pot for Christmas. Our art department, under the capable direction of Mr. John Sturmfels, aims at developing the natural artistic talent of the students and gives them new and different ideas. There are two separate courses of art: one concerns itself with the general art of today; the other, called, art appreciation, develops the students knowledge of art as it was evolved from past civili- zations. B. Weimer serves as a model for art students who will ATTEMPT to draw her. Thanks to Mr. Sturmfels and his capable art students, our halls were beautified for the holiday season. A touch of the holidays is brought into Concordia as art students trim the tree. 27
